What on Earth is going on? How is it August already? I was watching Nasa’s live stream from the ISS yesterday and I couldn’t believe that it had been two months already since I watched them launch the SpaceX Falcon 9 into space. Apparently time flies when you go back to work after almost three months’ furlough.
Anyway, August is here and it’s time to make a TBR (to be read). It’ll be the first one I ever make but apparently it’s all the rage in the book community. I’m mostly a mood reader so I’m not too confident that I’ll be able to stick to this list but it’s got a memoir, a nonfiction book, fantasy and contemporary fiction. So quite a bit of variation there. The only thing missing is romance, but that’s why I only put eleven books on the list. I know that at some point I’m going to want to delve into that genre as well but I never know what kind of romance I’m in the mood for, so I left that one open for all possibilities.
Without further ado, here’s the list:
The Last Witch (The Witcher) by Andrzej Sapkowski
Sword of Destiny (The Witcher) by Andrze Sapkowski
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin
The Obelisk Gate by N.K. Jemisin
The Extraordinaries by TJ Klune
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Slay by Brittney Morris
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Stamped - Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi
Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick
