Umm..Let’s pretend that we aren’t already halfway through October okay..
Once again I didn’t stick to my tbr (which was to be expected), BUT I did still complete my Yoncé-a-thon readathon and instead of the five books that I set out with, I ended up reading ten. Yay! The buddy read of Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski was scrapped and I’ll maybe get to it later in the year..we’ll see.
The first half of the month was quite slow for me, but during the last half I was basically reading one book per day and was a bit overwhelmed by all that binge reading. Don’t get me wrong, I read some pretty amazing books but it didn’t leave me much time to write reviews or any other blog posts.
I’m still not quite convinced that audiobooks are my thing, though. Sure, they make commuting much more enjoyable but I find it sometimes hard to concentrate on the narration..and then it’s a hassle to figure out when exactly I zoned out. It’s also really difficult to go back if I want to just check something that happened previously..I don’t know..I think I’ll give it until the end of the year before I delete the app, but so far it’s definitely my least favorite medium for reading.
But let’s get to the stats.

About Date Me, Bryson Keller...
I enjoyed the characters, relationships, plot, writing and just the whole experience of reading it. BUT, and it’s a huge but, this book is not this author’s idea...like, at all. It is a westernized version of a Japanese manga Seven Days by Takarai Rihito. I haven’t read the manga myself but reading other reviews and comments that truly seems to be the case. And the worst part is that the author only admitted to using this manga as an ”inspiration” after he was confronted about it. He justified the plagiarism as a critique of BL manga and as a desire to give a more realistic portrayal of the LGBT+ culture. (source)
So, my star-rating is mainly for my private use so that I can keep track of how I’m enjoying the books that I’m reading. I will definitely not post these 4 stars on GR of Amazon (or anywhere else). And if you do decide to read it, please be aware that this book was blatantly plagiarized. And even if you enjoy it, I hope that you won’t be promoting it or mentioning it without sharing the facts about it.
